What Picuki Is

Picuki is a free online tool that lets you view, edit, and download publicly available Instagram content without creating an Instagram account or installing an app. We started in 2023 as a simple workaround for a frustration shared by millions of people: Instagram had quietly made its public web profiles harder to browse without signing in, then pushed mobile visitors to the App Store before showing them anything at all. We wanted public profiles to actually be public again.

Today Picuki serves users worldwide. The site is available in thirteen languages — English, German, Spanish, French, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Thai, and Turkish — covering the homepage, TikTok tools, and the dedicated Instagram Story, Profile, and Post viewers with locale-specific landing pages for each. The viewer itself runs entirely in your browser: there is nothing to install, no account to create, and no payment required at any tier.

Our Mission

We believe content marked public should remain accessible to the public, regardless of whether the visitor has an account on the platform hosting it. When a user posts to a public Instagram profile, the intent is for that post to be findable and viewable by anyone — friends, future employers, journalists, researchers, strangers, search engines. Instagram's recent product decisions have moved away from that original promise by gating public content behind login walls and app-install prompts.

Picuki exists to restore the default. Our viewer fetches public content through public endpoints, displays it in a clean interface, and lets you download it for offline viewing. We do not bypass any access control that the original creator chose to apply: private accounts stay private, deleted posts stay gone, and Close Friends Stories are never visible. What we restore is what was always meant to be open in the first place.

What We Do Not Do

Picuki is read-only and view-only. We do not log in to Instagram on your behalf, we never ask for your Instagram credentials, we do not maintain any database of Instagram users, and we cannot bypass privacy settings. The following are things we explicitly refuse to do, and any service claiming to offer them is either misleading users or running malware:

We do not show who viewed your Instagram profile. Instagram has never offered this feature and no third-party tool can fabricate the data. We do not access private accounts — if a profile is private, no public-API tool can reach it, including ours. We do not recover deleted posts; once content is removed from Instagram, it is gone from the servers permanently. We do not perform actions on your behalf such as following, liking, commenting, or messaging. We do not sell user data to advertisers; technical logs are retained only for the time needed to prevent abuse, and aggregate analytics about page-load performance are collected via Google Analytics.

How the Service Stays Free

Picuki is funded by advertising placed in the page layout around the viewer — typically at the top, bottom, and sides of the content area, never inside the viewer itself, never on top of the content you are viewing, and never as pop-ups that interrupt browsing.

This funding model lets us keep every feature free for every user with no tier system and no premium upgrade. If you find Picuki useful, the most helpful thing you can do is share it with someone who would also use it, or simply keep using it yourself. We do not run donation drives, do not crowdfund, and do not sell merchandise — ad revenue covers infrastructure costs and that is the model.

Contact and Legal

If you are a content creator and want a specific piece of content removed from view through Picuki, please reach out via the contact page with the post URL and a brief description. We do not host Instagram content ourselves — every photo, video, and Story you see is loaded directly from Instagram's servers at the moment you view it — but we can block a URL from being fetched through Picuki if requested by the original creator. Requests are reviewed and handled as soon as possible.
